Welcome to Frozen to Fearless: a 366 day transformation…
I’m Lloyd Rosen and for the next 366 days I will attempt to blog daily as I transform myself into the person I have always wanted to be! I will try to be as transparent and real on this journey as I can so I can really make lasting change and hopefully inspire someone else to make a change in their life as well! You will get the highs and lows as we run, work out and push ourselves to higher heights. I am hoping that some people who find this blog might offer helpful suggestions, cheer me on and sweat with me! So please don’t be a stranger, spread the word and help me change the world…one positive day at a time. And if you decide to climb on board and do something amazing…please share so we can show the world….anything IS possible….no matter where you are, what age you are, what your excuse or dream may be!
So…….For every good life changing transformation we need some tools to get the job done.
FIRST we need a few items…
A) I think its a good idea to use a running program of some sort to see how far we are going as well as how fast. In the beginning it is important to just get out there on a regular basis…but as you progress it is a good idea to know how far you are going each time. Plus these programs keep track of speed as well as use GPS to make a map for you of where you go or where you have been. I think its also fun to see a list of your activities to inspire yourself with how much you have accomplished.
I personally use Runkeeper ( http://runkeeper.com ) A few others to research might be: Runmeter www.runmeter.com ,Nikeplus www.nikeplus.com, and Map My Fitness www.mapmyfitness.com ….. some of them cost a few dollars and some are free. Runkeeper has a free version and it seems to be a really great app for my phone.
B) Second get yourself a good pair of shoes to jog in. I am no expert in shoes….so do the research and get some good ones…it might save your knees in the end….. mine: 2 pairs for $20 at goodwill:)…… gotta love a good deal. They were just like new!
C) Third get a tape measure… mine is pink ( its all they had at target)…. do some measurements before, during and after so you can track what you have accompished!
D) Now for the upper body… the six pack…… of course if you can and want to join a gym…you should! But for some of us,…… push ups, sit ups and a bunch of other floor and bar exercises will have to do….. I’ll be sure to share my experience as I go:) See how lucky you are to have found this!
Second we need to consider a few things…
Don’t be so hard on yourself! We will never be completely happy with ourselves until we fix those bad tapes in your minds. We all have a certain amount of damage or bitterness from our childhood or life experience. We can’t be happy all the time and don’t fool yourself into thinking change is ever just going to be easy.
But its important that no matter what, we make a goal and just don’t give up! There will be setbacks, pain, road blocks and disappointment…….we need to know this before we start! But life is exactly what you make it. We get up every day and try again! No matter what if you really want something bad enough, you can do it….. believe, believe, believe and don’t quit!
I am no expert at anything…. I am a regular guy with dreams and a lot of passion. Through this journey I am here to encourage you as well as myself. I know life is far from perfect… but together we can accomplish anything! If you need to be pushed and prodded along, I hope that I can be there to help you…. and in turn maybe you will be there for me as well.
